Decision 2008: the best internet convention coverage
So this is not a post about politics…it is about who has the best method of communicating it’s message.
I watched Barack’s speech at the DNC site and actually watched it in HD…full screen. The sound was incredible and it communicated his message clearly. I was moved to tears sitting in a jury room staring at a computer screen with my headphones on…”This election is not about me…it’s about all of us.”
It’s easy to view the parties according to their stereotypes…
The Democrats: hip and with it, Hollywood and college kids…etc.
The Republicans: Old traditionalists that are out of touch with things like new media and social change.
So you would think that there would be some young Web-Designer Republican that would make sure that their main portal to communicate what is going on this week at the RNC was not a buggy, distorted, confusing, piece of poopoo.
The Republican page is using YouTube to stream their footage (YouTube? you aren’t hosting it in HD? How 2006.) The second thing is that it’s almost inaudible due to the amount of audio gain that the source videos have.
How did that happen? Do you not want the confidence of this generation? Do you not want to communicate your message clearly in the one place that most people turn to for information?
Obama twitters like Los on pixystix but Republican’s can’t find a way to clearly stream their biggest and most notable gathering.
So this may seem partisan, but only because Republicans didn’t step up and focus on their message…
(which by the way…I wasn’t trying to show an unflattering pic of Bush…I swear. I took like 12 screen caps and finally gave up trying to get one that looked like I wasn’t trying to make a joke…I was actually being kind)
