I have always been a fan of Coldplay, but thought that their last outing was just more of the same. X&Y was filled with the same types of tunes as their previous albums and other than “Fix You” I don’t think they went anywhere new.

Dude. Seriously. What an album.

In an era where the album has been declared dead, along comes Viva La Vida. Every song is epic. Every song soars. “42″ is a great three part song that starts with their standard piano ballad and launches into a prog-rock jam followed by a stadium-rock anthem…amazing. “Lost?” is pretty incredible…”Just because I’m losing, it doesn’t mean I’ve lost.”

Each song has a way of making you think you know the tune. As if Chris Martin’s melody was somehow withdrawn from the fiber of your being.

Anyway…great album…buy it.
